Title: Far too limiting
Name: Jamie Phelps
Date: 11/19/2008 11:01:35 AM
Comment:
There is no sense in limiting the password to "predefined wild characters." You should be validating at most the presence of 1 or more letters, 1 or more digits, and 1 or more special characters along with a minimum length.

How would I change this if I also wanted to not allow people to use 'password' as their password regardless of case?

Title: why min 8 char?
Name: sebastian nielsen
Date: 7/1/2004 11:47:01 AM
Comment:
Why must use 8 charachters? Im often use 1 charachter or allow blank password when im doing register form. Because by myself i HATE password and trying to crack this type of regexp on other sites in hope to get an blank password so i can login with my name only. But without the too-short lenght check , the regexp is good maximum lenght check was good.

tried this out... couldn't get it to work... what i need is a good regex for a password field... so its should allow all alpha-numerics as well as some special charachters... 8 to 20... and well this don't seem2work when modified for 20 chars... and i'm using vbscript... that make a difference???

Title: First character alpha only

How would you change the regex to make it where the first character can only be an alpha?
